THEME 16

DECONSTRUCTION / RECONSTRUCTION

(September 3 - 30, 2020)

Three times a year, The Musée d'art de Joliette galleries are transformed into construction sites. A construction site in which temporary exhibitions are dismantled to make way for new ones.

This period of dismantling and assembly gives way to a well-orchestrated and timed dance; during this transition period, curators, assistants, technicians and artists work to transform the exhibition halls.

For the month of September, we invited you to think about the times of great change. and we asked you this series of questions: What is deconstructing to rebuild? Does deconstruction necessarily lead to reconstruction? For you, do these terms only adapt to a physical space? Can they also be associated with mental or utopian spaces?
